Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Saturday received a phone call from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in which they discussed issues of common interest, including the situation in Libya.

A statement by the Algerian presidency said the two sides reviewed bilateral relations, prospects for cooperation between the two countries, and the situation in Libya and the Sahel region.

The Algerian president urged a comprehensive dialogue to resolve disputes in the region.

Last Monday, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra and Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu confirmed their support for an inter-Libyan solution and to hold transparent elections that would allow the Libyan people to exercise their right to choose their rulers.
