UNSMIL said that its Head Hanna Tetteh, accompanied by her deputy for political affairs, met on Saturday Khalifa Haftar to discuss political and security developments and the work of the Advisory Committee recently established by UNSMIL.
According to UNSMIL on "X", Tetteh and Haftar also underscored the need to continue work on the security track, including exploring ways to unify and ensure effective and accountable military institutions and enhance security and stability across Libya.
Haftar's media office said the former had welcomed Tetteh and reiterated support for UNSMIL and its efforts to achieve progress in the political process in Libya, in addition to discussing the need to provide the right environment for parliamentary and presidential elections.
