Three oil workers, a Libyan and two Sudanese nationals, died while another was injured during a routine maintenance work at the gas plant of Zelten oilfield on Sunday.

The workers have died of asphyxiation due to inhaling hydrogen sulfide (H2S), Sirte Oil and Gas Company confirmed.

The company said that the injured worker, whose nationality was not reported, was rushed to the nearest medical point at Brega port, and from there to Al-Maqreif Hospital in Ajdabiya town. It added that he is still under intensive care and is said to be in critical condition.
