The Ministries of Tourism and Economy have agreed to form a joint team to review economic diversification policies specifically for the tourism sector and develop them into an executable program per international standards.
The parties declared the agreement on Thursday during a meeting grouping the acting Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Nasraddin Al-Fazani, members of a relevant committee, and representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
They also reviewed strategies for diversifying the Libyan economy and creating an environment conducive to development, with a focus on the role of the private sector.
The economic diversification program aims to increase national income, achieve social justice, and adopt a national strategy to reduce oil dependence while exploiting Libyan potential in other sectors.
