The Tourist Police and Antiquities Protection Authority announced the handover of a valuable artifact to the Libyan Antiquities Authority in a ceremony held in Benghazi.
In a statement on Monday, the authority’s media office explained that the artifact is a small funerary statue dates back to an important historical period, was seized in a case handled by the Office of the Military Prosecutor in Benghazi.
The authority reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to cooperating with relevant authorities to combat the illegal trade in antiquities and protect archaeological sites, safeguarding the cultural heritage for future generations.
