The Deputy Minister of Transportation of the Presidential Council’s government Hisham Abu Shakiwat said the delay of service works at the Tripoli International Airport was caused by the lack of action by the Audit Bureau which did not endorse the contracts of the companies or pay them their financial dues to start.

Abu Shakiwat told reporters that the Audit Bureau took a long time to finalize the contracting process based on “fear grounds” and “exaggerated caution.

He also called on the Audit Bureau to cooperate with the ministry by giving the airport the needed assistance and providing the companies with the needed financial dues to kick off work.
