Athletes and enthusiasts gathered in Tripoli for the half marathon (21 km), which kicked off in its 5th edition under the slogan (We compete for peace).

About 2,500 people joined the marathon, including competitors from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Sudan, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, the Philippines, Japan, and Turkey.

The marathon set off in front of Mitiga roundabout, on Al-Shatt Road, passing through the Equestrian Square, and covered a distance of 21 km to the Martyrs' Square in central Tripoli.

The title of the 21km race went to Libyan Marwan Al-Bakai, while the Algerian Shams Al-Din Bin Ghali earned second place and Libyan Abdel Salam Al-Hattab came third.
