Tripoli International Airport has officially reopened for private and medical evacuation flights, Libya’s Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday.
The ministry stated that the notice was published through the Aeronautical Information Service (AIS), including details on available runways, taxiways, and communication facilities.
The airport had been out of service since 2014, following a violent conflict that caused extensive damage and destroyed nearly 90% of its infrastructure.
This marks a significant step by the Government of National Unity toward restoring vital transportation infrastructure in the capital.
