The director of the Tripoli University Hospital, Nabil Al-Ajili, said the hospital is struggling to cope with the patient's needs in the lack of medical supplies as well as nursing staff.

"The foreign nursing staff had left, while most local nurses moved to work in dispensaries," Dr. Al-Ajili said at a press conference on Wednesday.

He indicated that the hospital needs four thousand chemo doses, but only 200 have been provided. "Many departments are threatened to close because of lack of constant supplies of funding, medicines, and equipment," Dr. Al-Ajili added.

The hospital director pointed out that the new doctors who were appointed in the hospital are continuing to provide their services despite not being paid for two years.
