The Central Blood Bank, Tripoli branch, announced, on Saturday, that blood requests will not be responded to due to the lack of blood bags and laboratory reagents.

The bank said in a brief statement that despite repeated attempts to address the parties that have a legal obligation to provide the reagents and other operational materials, their efforts failed, and therefore are forced to take a decision to shut down the bank.

The bank stressed that it had large financial obligations that it was unable to pay because it did not obtain an operating budget, and that it was forced to vacate one of its premises due to the inability to pay the rent to the owner, besides other financial obligations to some companies.
