The Tripoli Traffic and Licensing Department recorded 816 traffic accidents in July, leading to 202 deaths, 331 serious injuries, and 283 minor injuries.
Highlighting the significant economic burden caused by traffic accidents, the department stated that 1,292 vehicles sustained material damage, amounting to a total cost of 7,162,550 Libyan dinars.
The report notes an alarming rise in the number of accidents and injuries, emphasizing the urgent need to enhance road safety measures.
The Ministry of Interior urged motorists to adhere to traffic laws, including respecting signals, maintaining vehicle control, adhering to speed limits, and refraining from using mobile phones while driving.
