Truck drivers in Gharyan have held a sit-in to protest against the deterioration of their conditions as well as the security situation in the areas where they travel through.

The drivers demanded that their wages are raised and that they should be provided with cash and that their treatment at the border crossings of Ras AJdair and Dahaiba should be improved.

Security and their protection from hijacking, looting and armed robbery on the roads is another demand for improvement by the drivers.
