The Advisor to the US President on Arab, Middle Eastern, and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, has emphasized the importance of ending violence in Libya and containing tensions in the capital, Tripoli.
During his visit to Egypt, Boulos met with several senior Egyptian officials, including Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aaty and the head of Egyptian Intelligence, Hassan Rashad, reviewing the latest developments in Libya and efforts to restore calm.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi also met with Boulos, expressing Egypt’s deep concern over the instability in Libya.
El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s strong commitment to supporting all proposed political settlement efforts and stressed the need for a Libyan-led solution to bring about lasting stability in the country.
