Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi has affirmed his country's constant support for the political path in the Libyan settlement.

This came during Jerandi's meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of his participation in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

"Tunisia's keenness on the success of the Libyan peace process comes from the premise of the long-standing relations between the two brotherly countries, away from any narrow interests or goals other than serving peace, security, and stability in Libya and the region," Jerandi said in remarks published by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry Saturday.

In turn, Guterres thanked Tunisia for facilitating the UN mission's work in Libya and its efforts to steer the course of events towards a political settlement.
