Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has announced that his country is seeking to conduct marine surveys to search for hydrocarbons in Libyan maritime areas.

Bayraktar stressed that Libya is a major country in energy resources and Turkey is interested in marine and l gas projects there, according to the Greek Ekathmerini website, citing an interview published by the Turkish newspaper Sabah with the minister on Friday.

Tripoli and Ankara are close to reaching an agreement, with possible developments on the horizon, the minister confirmed.
