The head of the Turkish Presidency's Communication Department, Fahrettin Altun, has attacked the Western role in the region, including Libya, saying that "the Western colonial regime is the main source of grievances of the modern era, and it is the source of instability and problems in Iraq, Syria, Palestine and even Libya."

Altun said, in a speech at the Tripoli Forum for Governmental Communication, on Friday, that Turkey and Libya broke someone's plans in the region, and were able to agree on moves that are in line with their own interests, as he put it.

"With joint determination and will, we will not allow any initiative aimed at undermining peace between our two countries,” he added.

Altun stressed that Turkey, state and people, will continue to stand by Libya and the Libyans.
