The Libyan Iron and Steel Company in Misrata has announced the death of two people and the injury of four as a result of an industrial fire in the direct reduction plant in the dust extraction unit of the first unit.

On Sunday, the company confirmed the death of firefighter Ahmed bin Saud after he was injured while trying to extinguish the fire, and later announced the death of his colleague Abu Bakr Al-Kolas, as they were under treatment at the Burns Hospital in Tripoli, flying the flags at half-mast in the company to mourn the death of the two men.
