The Spokesman for the Ambulance and Emergency Apparatus, Osama Ali, reported the death of two immigrants and the rescue of 26 others as a boat carrying them off the coast of Al-Khums capsized.
Ali added in a press statement that the boat was carrying 30 illegal immigrants of Syrian and Egyptian nationalities, noting that rescue teams headed to the scene of the accident immediately after receiving the report of the incident.
According to Ali, two immigrants were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment, including one in critical condition. He indicated that the immigrants were being held pending their referral to the competent authorities to take the necessary measures.
