The Antiquities Control Office in Tripoli has reported that two citizens had voluntarily handed in a number of artifacts after buying them from an outdoor antique market as worthless old objects, but which are in fact invaluable antiquities.

The objects included two lamps of pottery, a small mug, and a glass base in addition to pottery fragments that have a Roman-era seal.

The items are thought to be stolen from archaeological locations due to security chaos and the inability of police to control the old sites.
