Ubari Airport

Ubari Airport has resumed operations after a hiatus of over four years, the Airports Authority announced on Wednesday.

The first plane landed at the airport on Tuesday, carrying a delegation representing the Airports Authority, including its head, Mohamed Bait Al-Mal, besides officials from the Civil Aviation Authority, the National Center of Meteorology, the General Union of Air Transport, and the Afriqiya Airlines.

During a ceremony to mark the occasion, the authorities emphasized the airport's readiness to receive flights after completing all necessary maintenance and construction work.

The maintenance works included repaving the runway and connecting corridor, constructing an administrative building and fence around the borders, and providing security inspection devices and other equipment.
