The UN Secretary General’s Advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, called on all Libya actors to refrain from the use of violence, threats of violence, saying they should end the use of hate speech and incitement.

These remarks came in a meeting in Tripoli on Saturday between Williams and a group from the EUI Peacemakers, as Williams said on Twitter that she had appreciated their briefing on the outcome of the recent Peacemakers' gathering in Tunis where options were presented to address the ongoing political crisis in Libya and to restore the electoral process on a firm, fully inclusive, transparent and consensual basis.

“We also discussed the need to redouble efforts to foster national reconciliation. Calm on the ground must be preserved.” Williams added on Twitter.
