The United Nations-backed Advisory Committee has convened its fourth meeting at the UN Support Mission (UNSMIL) headquarters in Benghazi—the first such gathering in the city following three previous sessions in Tripoli.
The committee continued discussions on key political issues, according to a statement by UNSMIL.
Members are also expected to engage with the Joint Committee (6+6), formed by Libya’s rival legislative bodies, the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, to address election laws.
UNSMIL emphasized that the committee’s proposals will help shape its strategy for the next phase of Libya’s political transition.
