The head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, accompanied by the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Humanitarian Coordinator, Georgette Gagnon, and heads of the International Organization for Migration, the United Nations Children's Fund, the United Nations Development Program and the World Food Program in Libya, have visited Sabha city.

In a statement by the UN mission on the UN delegation’s visit, Gagnon confirmed that the UN is committed to supporting southern Libya.

"We are working to intensify our work with local authorities and communities to address humanitarian, human rights and development challenges in the region, with a focus on community stability and economic resilience”, Gagnon added.
