The UN’s top envoy to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, has met with Egypt’s Ambassador to Libya, Tamer El-Hefny, to discuss the work of a newly formed Advisory Committee aimed at supporting Libya’s political process.
According to a statement from the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), the meeting took place on Tuesday and covered the country’s political and economic landscape.
Tetteh underscored the need for Libyan and international backing to ensure the committee’s success, highlighting its role in preparing the ground for national elections.
Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining stability and managing Libya’s resources effectively to support the country’s recovery.
