UN Special Representative for Libya, Hana Tetteh, held talks with Japan’s ambassador to Libya, Izuru Shimura, to review the progress of the country’s advisory committee.
During Thursday’s meeting, Tetteh underlined the importance of the committee fulfilling its mandate and offering actionable recommendations to support the UN mission’s strategy for Libya.
She also highlighted the need for long-term political stability and effective economic governance to address challenges facing Libya’s institutions.
Ambassador Shimura reaffirmed Japan's commitment to supporting the UN's efforts to help Libya move beyond the current political stalemate.
