The Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Ghassan Salame met with the Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Monday in Cairo.

The two sides discussed the political and security developments in Libya and emphasized the importance of the Arab League role in finding a lasting political solution to restore stability in Libya, according to the UN mission, on Facebook.

For his part, Aboul Gheit welcomed Salama's efforts to revive the political process in Libya.
