Members of the House of Representatives (HoR) held a meeting on Sunday with Stephanie Kouri, the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). The talks, held at the House’s headquarters in Benghazi, centered on Libya’s political future.

Discussions focused on strategies to resolve the nation’s ongoing crisis, with an emphasis on holding presidential and parliamentary elections. Participants highlighted the importance of establishing a unified government to oversee the electoral process and ensure nationwide stability.

The meeting also addressed a proposed National Reconciliation Law, deemed a vital step toward political stability and peace in the country.
