The United Nations Envoy to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, held talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Istanbul on Friday to discuss support for Libya’s political process.

According to a statement from the UN mission, Tetteh briefed Fidan on the progress of the advisory committee and shared insights from her recent meetings with Libyan stakeholders.

The discussions also covered regional developments and their potential impact on Libya.

Both officials stressed the need for cooperation among Libyan, regional, and international actors to create a favorable environment for political stability. They underscored the importance of holding general elections as a key step towards lasting peace. Turkey reaffirmed its support for UN efforts in Libya’s transition.
