The Minister of State for Women’s Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Houria Al-Tarmal, has discussed with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative to Libya, Hana Tetteh, and her deputy, Stephanie Koury, ways to enhance the participation of Libyan women.
Both sides reviewed mechanisms to support women’s rights and empower them in various fields to ensure equal opportunities and strengthen their role in decision-making positions.
For her part, Tetteh reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to supporting Libyan efforts to enhance women’s presence in leadership positions.
