The UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, said in a tweet on Thursday that he met with Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune and they shared views on the situation in Libya, as Tebboune highlighted the need for taking all necessary steps to overcome the political impasse through elections.
Algeria's President stressed that Libya elections must be inclusive, transparent and secure conditions must be provided to enable their successful conduct, according to Bathily's tweet.
He said that the President of Algeria also expressed unwavering support to the UN efforts and highlighted that stability in Libya is a regional need for all countries, especially those sharing borders.
