The Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and UN humanitarian coordinator in Libya, Maria Ribeiro, said that the voluntary return of the people of Tawergha in a safe and dignified manner should not be delayed any further.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Ribeiro expressed her concern regarding the situation for Tawerghan IDPs in the Qarara Qataf district, adding that it is the responsibility of the authorities in Libya to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons within their jurisdiction.
