The UN Security Council will hold a session this month to discuss renewing the mandate of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), as well as the measures contained in Resolution No. 2146 related to the illicit export of oil from Libya.

It is expected that the Security Council will also decide during its upcoming session to extend the mandate of the Committee of Experts related to Libya formed under Resolution No. 1970, whose mandate expires on the February 16, as reported by the Security Council Report website.

The Security Council is also discussing the Libyan Investment Authority’s request, which it submitted last December to the Committee of Experts, to allow it to reinvest in Libyan assets frozen abroad.
