The United Nations and Spain have signed an agreement that allows Libya's High National Elections Commission (HNEC) to receive technical and advisory support for the electoral process in Libya.

The UN official, Marc-Andre Franch, and Spanish Ambassador to Libya, Javier Larache, inked the agreement on Wednesday in the presence of the HNEC Head Emad Al-Sayeh, in Tripoli.

A statement by the HNEC said the agreement signed under the UN-led People project aims to provide technical and advisory support for the electoral process.

On December 15, the UNDP signed a similar agreement with the German and French governments to support the People project.
