The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has provided two ambulances, equipped for intensive care, to the municipality of Sirte.

The mayor, Mukhtar Al-Madani, has presented the ambulances to the administration of Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in the city, as the only hospital that provides health and treatment services in Sirte and the surrounding areas from Buqrin in the west to Ras Lanuf in the east, and Al-Jufra in the south.

The city of Sirte has received great support from the UNDP during the past three years, representing in the maintenance of more than 14 schools and four health facilities, in addition to the provision of 15 garbage trucks for the General Company for Cleaning Services Sirte.
