The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Libya said that it had removed rubble from destroyed buildings in the two largest areas of the city of Tawergha as part of its work for sustainable cities in Libya.

The UNDP in Libya confirmed on its official Twitter account that its intervention in the city of Tawergha is aimed at enabling the return of at least 5,000 people safely to their homes and to assist them to start new businesses in their areas.

It indicated that this work is being supported by Germany, the European Union, Italy, the United States, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, South Korea, France, Denmark, Canada, and Switzerland.
