The United Nations Development Program team has discussed with the Mayor of the Qasr Al-Akhyar Municipality, Salem Awaj, on Saturday, the completion of ongoing civil works in preparation for the opening of the historic palace in the area.
The preparations are being carried out with the support of the European Union and coordination from the Historic Cities Management Authority. The historic palace is scheduled to open soon, according to a brief statement issued by UNDP.
UNDP said that the opening of the palace will contribute to economic growth at the local level.
