The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) office in Libya, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, has launched a capacity building programme in support of midwives in Libya.

UNFPA office said in a statement on its Facebook page, Friday, that to mark the International Day of the Midwife, the Fund is conducting the programme for 5 days in cooperation with the Libyan Ministry of Health, and aims to train midwives on spacing between births.

Midwives working in Al-Jalaa Hospital, several clinics and health centers in Tripoli, are participating in the training, noting that support for nursing and midwifery services and funding for training was provided by the European Union Delegation to Libya.
