The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported a 28% decrease in the number of migrants arriving in Italy during the month of March compared to previous months.
According to the UNHCR report, over 2,400 migrants reached the Italian coast in March, having departed from Libya and Tunisia.
Libya topped the list, accounting for about 92% of sea arrivals to Italy, with 80% of those arriving specifically on the island of Lampedusa.
