The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has evacuated 103 asylum seekers from Libya to Rwanda.

According to UNHCR, the group included young children, survivors of violence, and women and girls at risk.

The UN organization said the migrants will receive support at the Gashora Transit Centre in Rwanda, pending the search for other solutions, including resettlement.

UNHCR expressed its gratitude to the relevant Libyan authorities for their support and cooperation in facilitating the necessary procedures for organizing humanitarian evacuation flights.
