The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said that it has installed 20 water sterilization systems in Al-Bayda and Shahat to protect the health of the neediest groups.
UNICEF added that this came in response to the urgent need to provide clean and safe drinking water, following the floods that swept eastern Libya, where wells were contaminated, leading to the spread of infectious diseases.
It indicated that more than 70,000 citizens, including 21,000 children, are now able to obtain clean drinking water.
