The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has announced the rehabilitation of four primary medical centres in Derna, damaged by the 2023 floods.
In a statement, UNICEF said that, in partnership with the International Medical Corps in Libya, it had completed the rehabilitation of water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities in four primary healthcare centres in Derna: Al-Fatayeh, Al-Bumba, Ras Al-Teen, and Al-Athrun.
The maintenance project encompassed the installation of doors and windows, electrical system upgrades, lighting restoration, and the reactivation of previously non-operational essential services. These improvements have resulted in enhanced facilities, now benefiting approximately 10,000 individuals, including 4,300 children.
