Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, has stated that the United Nations plays a major role in Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Ethiopia, stressing that world would be much worse without it.

In a statement Saturday to Al-Ghad channel, Dujarric indicated that the situation in Libya is very difficult, adding that the Secretary-General of the United Nations succeeded in bringing together the Libyan parties to support and work for the benefit of the people, but he does not impose solutions.

Dujarric pointed out that the United Nations faces special challenges with countries that adhere to the veto, stressing that the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called for the reform of the Security Council.
