The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has exempted Muammar Gaddafi’s widow, Safiya Farkash, along with two of his offspring, Aisha and Muhammed Gaddafi, all of whom had obtained political asylum in the Sultanate of Oman.

The UNSC clarified in a statement that the exemption became valid from 1 December 2021 up until 31 May 2022, clearly giving these three individuals of the Gaddafi family the right to make unlimited flights for humanitarian purposes throughout this time frame.
