The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame has expressed his hope that oil ports in the eastern region would be reopened within days.

In a statement to Reuters on Saturday, Salame said that if the matter is not resolved today, it will be discussed on Sunday in the Berlin summit.

The UN mission warned in a statement earlier that disrupting oil production in Libya would have significant implications on the deteriorating economic and financial situation.
