A group of 17 women lawyers participated in the 8th training workshop organized by the UN Support Mission In Libya (UNSMIL), the mission said on Sunday.
The workshop was organized by the UN mission, UN Women, and the United Nations Development Program in cooperation with the General Bar Association in Tripoli and the United Nations team of experts on the rule of law.
"participants deepened their understanding of international human rights standards, criminal justice, and combating violence against women, and explored challenges faced by women in the legal profession and how to overcome them," the UNSMIL said on Facebook.
It emphasized the vital role of female lawyers in defending women’s rights and ensuring their access to justice, stressing the importance of supporting their development in the rule of law, justice, and security systems.
