A US Navy drone has carried out an overnight surveillance mission along Libya’s coastline, an Italian defence monitoring website has reported.
According to Itamil Radar, the Northrop Grumman MQ-4 unmanned aircraft took off from Sigonella Naval Base in Italy and patrolled the Libyan coast from Tripoli to Tobruk, including the Gulf of Sirte.
The aircraft remained in international airspace throughout the mission, following a similar surveillance pattern seen in recent weeks. The US has not commented on the operation.
