The United States embassy in Libya concluded Tuesday a smuggling interdiction training through the embassy's  Export Control and Border Security program for a group of 20 Libyan Customs, Passport, and Counter-terrorism officers in Tunis.

The US ambassador Richard Norland congratulated the Libyan officers in a tweet on Tuesday, saying maintaining control of national borders against smugglers, human traffickers and potential terrorists is a vital function of any nation state and the US is pleased to assist Libya in developing its capabilities in this important area.
