Jeremy Berndt, US Chargé d'Affaires in Libya, met with Adel Jumaa, Minister of State for Ministerial Affairs of the Government of National Unity, and Ibrahim Dbeibah, Advisor to the Prime Minister in Tunis on Friday.
The US Embassy in Libya said several files were reviewed including ways to enhance economic cooperation between the United States and Libya and support economic development and prosperity in the country.
They also discussed in the meeting the importance of ensuring the independence and integrity of the Central Bank and other vital Libyan economic institutions, according to US Embassy post on its X platform.
The meeting also discussed the file of the upcoming municipal elections, and the role played by the UN mission in facilitating the political process to help Libyans overcome divisions, unify institutions, and formulate a reliable roadmap for national elections.
