The United States of America reiterated its rejection of any and all foreign intervention in Libya, whether by military equipment or forces on the ground.

This came in a statement by the senior adviser to the US State Department, Brian Hook on Sunday, confirming that his country totally rejects the intervention of certain countries who supply weapons and forces on the ground, whether they are regular army personnel or militia mercenaries.

Hook reiterated his country’s support for a peaceful settlement to the Libyan crisis and indicated that the neighboring countries to Libya, particularly Tunisia, would be the first to benefit from the success of political settlement efforts to the crisis in Libya.
