An armed group set fire on Saturday in one of the valves on the crude oil transmission line, about 25 km north-west of Marada town, sources from Waha Oil Company confirmed.

A source from the Marada Brigade of Dignity Operation claimed that the fire was due to a “terrorist act”, pointing out that the damaged pipeline links Waha oilfield in the district of Marada oil basin to the Sidra port in the oil crescent region.

The source added that the same line had been bombed earlier last December while undergoing maintenance operations.
